A Master?

On May 15, 2013 Layne did it!  He received the degree of Master of Business Administration!  A very happy day!  So proud of him!  :)

Best Visit Ever - 2013!

In May, we were very blessed to have a visit from my Uncle Chuck and Aunt Linda all the way from Washington state and my Uncle John and Aunt Patty from Ohio.  It was the best time ever!

Karlee just loves Uncle Chuck!  Words cannot describe her excitement that they were at our house!  :)

I love this picture of my dad fixing Kavan up before church.  He probably would have shined his shoes next!  :)
At church, Kyler was ordained as a Teacher.  It was really cool to have so much family with us!
My Uncle John and Uncle Chuck - I love them!

A little "jam session."

Consulting?

A Happy Birthday celebration for Kirk, Kyler and Dad!

It doesn't get much better than this... birthday wishes and lots of yummy treats!

Mitchell's, Burgy's and Phillips'  - so fun!!

My dad's birthday wish came true...

Kool-aid and Country Time lemonade! :)
Here we are...

I wasn't sure Karlee would let go!

Just cute!

After Karlee finally let go of Uncle Chuck, they traveled to Savannah for a couple days.  My dad surprised them with a dinner at Paula Dean's.  So fun!

This was such a fun weekend!  I can't tell you how blessed we all felt and how thankful we all were to have Chuck and Linda with us!  A truly great family memory!  I insist that we do it again!  :)

Kyler's Birthday 2013

So, Kyler turns 14!  And may I say that 14 is such a fun age... church dances, youth conference, crazy huge growth spurts - which make you taller than mom - and facial hair, what?!?

His birthday collided with baseball, so a quick and happy celebration we had...

Cheesecake...

He loves cheesecake and was so excited to finally be able to have a piece as we made him wait alllllllll day!  :)

Notice his arm span... his arm span is more than his height!

Love that smile!

He likes purple, wears colored jeans, refs soccer, plays baseball, can solve a Rubik's cube (sometimes under a minute), is learning the guitar bit by bit, and loves flying RC airplanes.

Layne's Birthday 2013

For Layne's 43rd birthday, we sent him on a scavenger hunt...

His birthday card sent him to his favorite snack/treat in the pantry.

Clue #1

Hmmmmm....

It led him to Kenzie at the treadmill because they had made a pact to exercise.  So, a new pair of shorts for him.

Clue #2 led him to Karlee at the lawn mower because Layne mows the grass when he needs to unwind.

A head massager for more relaxation.

Clue #3 led to Kavan at the camper - which Layne wishes we had more time to use.

A dutch oven, camping cookbook to entice us to go camping!

Clue #4 led to Kyler where he stood all alone on the old dirt road behind our house.  Layne has always wondered what could be found back there.

So, he got a metal detector - which I think is just such a funny, nerdy gift - they had a blast!  :)

After playing around with his new treasures, we had German Chocolate cake.

So many candles...

And still only one blow!

Happy Birthday!

Spring Break 2013

Yes, still catching up...

So, during Spring Break the boys hung out and traveled to Florida to go fishing!

And while they were successfully fishing, us girls were livin' it up...or down!

I love how my mom got in on the "goofy" picture!  Mom, that is an awesome face!  :)

Karlee didn't remember how we used to spider swing when she was little, so I thought I would remind her - it was easier when she was little!  So funny!  :)

Oh, Rapunzel, Rapunzel let down your hair!  That silly Laney!

We took a day and spent it at the Atlanta temple.  It was beautiful and the flowers were amazing!

After enjoying the flowers and taking some pictures, we picked a spot to relax and reflect.  It was so fun!  I asked the girls to draw a picture of the temple.  They took it quite seriously and made some beautiful pictures!  When they were done drawing I asked them to list 5 adjectives that described the temple...then 5 synonyms.  It was so sweet and amazing to listen to them share the words that they had listed.  We started talking about why they wanted to get married in the temple and which temple they wanted to get married in.  It was so fun - and then they listed the qualities they want in a husband... and then they decided they needed to list the qualities they needed as wives.  It was just so fun and at times so funny!  It was neat to see that they understood how special a place the temple is - no matter what age!  It was beautiful!

After the temple, my mom treated us to lunch at Sweet Tomatoes (which is YUMMY!), we stuffed ourselves silly and made our way back home!  :)

My mom showed the girls how to use her quilting machine and Kenzie got to work on some towels that went along with one of her personal progress projects.

While Kenzie worked, we kept Karlee busy with high school memories...

This was my mom's crown.  She was queen, pretty fun, huh?  Karlee loved seeing her dresses and gloves and clutches and crowns.   Karlee was in heaven!

Then she tried on my senior prom dress.  Oh the memories!

Kenzie's finished product!  Hooray!  So cute! :)

Spring Break was AWESOME!  Unforgettably fun in every way!
