As we awoke this morning to wrong clock times, missing items, clothes being changed and exchanged from one drawer to another, and cereal boxes with the wrong kind of cereal in them, we knew it was no longer the lucky month of March. It is April, and we (Layne, Kyler and myself) had been "fooled" by three silly sneaky kids (McKenzie, Karlee and Kavan). Good thing our trusty rooster was crowing at 5:11am to wake us up at the right time! :)
But if you were to ask us the luckiest thing about March,
For McKenzie, it might be that she finally got that Math grade to an A and brought home straight A's on her report card. Maybe it was being inducted into the National Junior Honor Society
or being invited to the District Honor Band.
Or maybe it was driving the trail bike like a real "biker chic"!
But, it could be that she got her braces and Herbst appliance off and can still whistle!
For Kyler, it might be having straight A's and being done with his King George III project. Maybe it's that he has had so much fun playing soccer, and now gets to start baseball season with Uncle Mike's lucky baseball glove (that grandpa gave him). Or it might have something to do with the trail bike and his cool helmet!
For Karlee, it might be having straight A's or getting to perform in the first grade play. It might be riding on the trail bike with daddy. Or it could be her new look with hot pink princess glasses. But actually, I think it might definitely be the baby chicks.
For Kavan, it might be that he has finally come to good terms with his teacher Mrs. Green (his third teacher for this school year), and instead of asking when she's going to leave, he runs to hug her. Or it could be that he discovered that the baby chicks fit into plastic eggs so he can hatch them himself! He might also think that visits from the Caswells (our home teacher) are pretty lucky, especially since they bring treats! But I think it might be riding on the trail bike with daddy, jumping off the swings with Kyler and playing baseball with Grandpa!!!!
For Layne, I think it's all about the trail bike! :)
For me, it might be that my awesome father-in-law fixed the mixer (it stopped working a couple of days after I made my bread). HOORAY! (I was so excited that we made brownies that next day!) Or it might be watching my kids grow, succeed, push forward, learn the gospel, and just have fun in life. Or maybe it's watching Layne be a big kid with the kids! Maybe it's just that everyone has been safe with the trail bike...
despite Cade's attempt to knock off the rider so he can have his turn quicker. - So funny - we had to lay down some maybe not so obvious rules. :) But actually, it would probably be that my parents have returned home safely from their mission. That they got to watch Kyler play soccer (the night he scored 3 goals), surprise Kenzie at Honor Band, and surprise Karlee at her school play! I even got to go on a "walk and talk" with my mom, while my dad ran my errands for me! So fun! I do feel pretty lucky (even if I've already been fooled this month)!
